Taniya John Schumacher is a hotelier with 15 years of experience in the hospitality field. From the southern coast of Sri Lanka, she was born and raised in the city of Galle. A city which claims proudness to the UNESCO world heritage, the Galle Dutch Fort. 
 

After her schooling days, she got the opportunity to work for a well established and reputed international hotel chain. Aman destinations are renowned for space and privacy. Each welcomes guests as if to the home of a close friend, instilling a sense of peace and belonging amid some of the most diverse natural and historical landscapes. Starting her carrier in 2004 at one of the resorts located in the UNESCO world heritage Galle dutch fort she was a part of the pre-opening team at Amangalla.

Starting as a telephone operator in 2004 she held different positions until 2007. Having recognized her performance the management had decided to transfer her to the busy city of Colombo to join the pre-opening team for the central reservations office. Starting as an  Account Executive she was promoted as a Shift Supervisor to overlook operations of the daily shift. Completing 4 years at the Colombo office she was transferred to the rate management department as a Senior Reservations Systems Specialist. Completing her 15th year at Aman she currently holds the position of Distribution Rate Manager for all 30+ resorts worldwide.

In her 15 years of experience at Aman, she has traveled to 15 resorts worldwide starting from India, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, United States, and, Italy. She has been able to set up systems and provide training to all resorts in her period of travel.

Focusing on her academic growth Taniya holds a Person Diploma in Internet Marketing by ESOFT Metro Campus. Instead of stopping there she is at the latter part of completing her Master of Business Administration by London Metropolitan University, UK.

She is also a super mother and a wife at home. Currently living in Colombo she is a part of a family of three.
